The past couple of weeks have had some rough times, but I am still around. I have been keeping a log of my days to see if I can find a trigger for my fibro or something that improves the pain level. I know stress and weather affects, but nothing seems to be standing out. I am also filling out a questionnaire each week as far as how I am doing and feeling.
This past week I have increased how often I go to the gym. I went 6 days in a row, not full workouts all days, but at least the treadmill every time. I had increased my walk time to between 20 and 25 minutes. Last night I did 30 minutes, then some machines. I felt very proud of myself. I took today, and then Friday and Saturday off due to my work schedule. I am hoping that the increased cardio will help in many ways. I figured that I am going to go to the gym when I am off work at 6 or 7pm, and then my days off. With the increased daylight, the tired feeling from it being dark outside should not be an excuse.
Two weekends ago I went to visit with my parents. My father had been in the hospital before my visit with a kidney stone and hernia. The first afternoon I was there, my dad's swelling got really bad, causing his blood pressure to keep rising, his breathing became difficult. We were all just crying because of the frustration of what to do. I told mom to stop the medications since he did not have these issues before starting the medications. Needless to say, that first night I did not sleep good, every sound waking me up. He went to sleep in the bed, and then moved to the living room chair because of the breathing difficulty. His swelling was a little better the next day, but 10 minutes on his feet showed swelling again. Mom and dad think he passed the kidney stone on Sunday because he felt the pain as it moved. He was starting to feel spunky that second evening, so that was good news. I slept better that night, especially since dad slept in his bed all night, even with getting up several times to use the restroom. The following morning, dad had very minimal swelling, which has not recurred since being off the medication. I at least was able to leave knowing that he was feeling better and was not swelling as much.
I am off to bed shortly, so I hope all have a good rest of the week.
