I did an hour of intervals on the elliptical to jump start my morning. I got my Humira injection and asked the nurse practitioner to look at the lump on the back of my neck just in my hair. I had had this strange bump on the middle of my head grow, last a week and then finally go down and thought this may be another of those. Turned out it was a TICK! She got it out easily, along with a few of my hairs :P It wasn't bloated, so it had just attached. Wondering where the heck it came from, as I go through no bush or grass in the little concrete jungle where I live!
Then I was off to bridge and the partner I will be playing bridge with in the tournament and I had a second placing. So far, we have had nothing but good games, so it looks like we are peaking at the right time!!!
Back home and getting ready to go to my classes. As the temperature was going down to 2 C (36F), I had to dress for rain AND cold. So back out came the old parka.
Thoroughly enjoyed my classes and the wonderful, soreness saving hot tub after :)
I came home to a smoke flooded apartment and opened my door and window wide, and fortunately, the air suctioned through, clearing it quickly. But I can't have my door hanging open all night, but will keep it there until I hit the sack. At least with the rain I won't get all the dirt blown in. One good thing with all the rain and wind, everything from the trees has blown down to the ground so pollen shouldn't be a problem. The streets and sidewalks are a big mess though.
I have today and Friday off from bridge, then I work the Awards Night at the club Saturday.
Big sweet temptation -Costco's incredible butter cream icing cake!!
Have a Totally Terrific Thursday all! Zumba for my morning and step for my evening :))
Hugs,
Linda

What a happy coincidence that you asked the nurse to examine the lump on your neck, and that she was able to remove what turned out to be a tick. Good riddance!

Glad things went well at bridge and that you were able to enjoy the hot tub after your workout.

Glad you mentioned the bump to the PA. Odd.

Great workouts.

Something should be done about the smoke. Where does it come from?

Hope that tick was not a bad one! Odd place for it to attach to boot. You trek along the river, where wild animals frey....which leaves a possibility of those little bugs! My dog used to get them all along his ears. I would have to pick them off EVERYDAY. Live in the dirt I guess.

Good heavens, temps of 36?! Guess you could use a share of my 105?!

Linda, for all the workout you get, do NOT feel the least guilty about that butter cream icing cake....It wouldn't DARE attach to your bum!

So glad the nurse found the tick! DC has had a lot of PSAs about the danger of cigarette smoke from one apartment to the next, and I think of what you are going through. I am using a hepa filter to help with the fumes from the cleaning products, paint, etc. but it isn't comforting to think how smoke can travel and affect one's health!

We've got ticks everywhere this year. It's the only good thing bout the rain and cool is that it's slowed them down a little bit. Our dog shaggy is dealing with a skin infection I'm pretty sure came from scratching at ticks. Have a great day Linda.

I'm glad the tick was found before it was engorged! I have to laugh at your posts about the cold weather and rain when here in southern nm it's in the mid to upper 80's and dry as a bone with wildfires burning not too far away and smoke blowing our direction at times from them. I would so love to have some rain right now! You would probably love to have the warmer temps though.
Have a great day!
