We built our house a little over 40 years ago and with 40 years of living, there are a lot of things, like everywhere! It can’t be called junk because a lot of it are things that came from our mothers and grandmothers! Really considered antique, but not your ‘worth a fortune‘, fancy, ‘do not touch‘ antiques! Actually they are ‘well used, mean something to family‘ antiques! My husband is also very into trains and always has been, so he turned our daughter’s room into a fabulous HO gauge train layout ~ wall to wall to wall to wall! You have to crawl under and come up in the middle to see it! It is also now used for storage! :)
Now the garage definitely could use come ‘dejunking‘! Paul was a builder and now is into home repair. He also is great at working on our cars, etc. Needless to say, he has every tool he has ever bought, plus screws, nails and anything similar you could ever imagine! Let’s put it this way…we have a 2 car garage with one car snuggly in on one side and on the other side a narrow path to the kitchen door! Oh, and we also have an attic full of ‘who knows what all’ that we definitely need to go through! We keep talking, or rather I keep talking about going through the attic and cleaning it out! Who knows there may actually be treasures up there! Hehehe!
I am thankful that what was originally a ‘parlor‘ in our 1300 sq. ft. home, is my office and I can dejunk it whenever I feel like it! :) Oh, and I did my kitchen last year! Of course there are a lot of ‘antiques‘ in it too! Ex: Grandma Stroh’s, my husband’s grandmother who would be around 129 years old, she was 99 when she died, wooden ‘one piece‘ rolling pin, knives, and other kitchen utensils from my mother and grandmother that you can find in antique stores and our electric kitchen stove, which is ‘Harvest Gold‘ and the original stove put in when we built our home! It also still works! :) This is why I call our home ‘The Museum‘! :)
Our home, The Museum, is cozy, warm and full of love! You can’t eat off our floors, but who would want to anyway? You will find dust, but then it is a Museum! When it comes down to it…I wouldn’t trade it for the biggest, grandest mansion there is! It is home ~ full of love, wonderful happy memories, a little dust and…IT’S PAID FOR!!!
Neither one of these is our ‘Museum‘, but somewhere in the middle! :)
Have a Blessed, Happy, Memory Making Day!
Love and Blessings Always,
~ Judy ♡ ~
