Can't believe I'm almost half-way through this "Tame Your Sweet Tooth Challenge" This is actually Day 14. I've had very few cravings for sweets For a snack I usually eat fruit ( apple, banana, dried apricots) Today I had an orange. Remarkably I am not craving sweets when I eat them. I just have it to tide me over til the next meal.
Tracking all my meals was a bit tedious at first. I had tried tracking before but usually only put it 1 or 2 meals, and skipped days in between. However, since I've been doing it consistently I've been pleasantly surprised at how balanced the meals are and within my range. I guess that is why I am not having cravings - no wild spikes in blood sugar.
Even though I am trying to take this one day at a time, I can't help but look ahead to the finish and what I should do.
I could start a new challenge and plug in for another 30 days.
I could look for a new challenge which will keep me using the tracking tools
If I defeat the temptation of the (still) unopened Easter candy, should I keep it to prove I can
handle it with moderation or toss it to show "I don't need it"
You know what strikes me as funny?
Before this challenge, when I was craving sugar like crazy almost daily, I would rid the house of everything that was "risky"; but I would still stand before an open fridge or cupboard looking for what I knew was not there!
Now I haven't so much as glanced at the candy in the bottom of the fridge. It has about as much allure as an onion. But is that only because I am still on the challenge?
Anyway, just wanted to tell you all is still well and I appreciate your thoughts, comments and encouragement.
