Holiday Weekend Activities...

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

Good Afternoon All,

I'm back, and it's good to be amongst all my friend's again. I had an awesome weekend doing heaps of activities with my granddaughter and much more.

The weekend began with Saturday having a garage sale for our Tenant's Association here where I live. We raised $180.00 for our summer kids programs with money left over for all our other projects we plan throughout the summer, fall and winter. It was our 1st ever garage sale and we were so pleased in how we did. I bought a lot of kids video's, My Little Pony and assecories, baby doll twins with a feeding set, 2 games, and a fun brick set, never been opened, both games in original wrapping, wow, what a bonus. I also bought a pancake pan with insect moulds to make mini individual pancakes and a mini muffin pan that makes 24 cupcakes or muffins. I used the pancake cast iron pan and made mini chocolate chip pancakes for our breakfast on Monday, Nyla ate 2 butterfly and 1 ladybug and I had 2 butterfly chocolate chip mini pancakes. I made them from scratch and boy were they ever good.

I spent Sunday and Monday with my granddaughter . Monday was a holiday celebrating Victoria Day here in Canada. We watched Prince Philip and Camila arrive in New Brunswick to celebrate Victoria Day and later leave for Totonto Ontario, we watched Prince Philip welcome new Canadians as they received their Canadian Citizenships after taking the oath to become brand new Canadians. Nyla had heaps of questions so I turned the holiday into an educational day.

We also had a lot of fun playing with her new toys, My Little Pony and accessories and her baby twins, boy and a girl complete with a feeding set. We played games, did bubbles outside, puzzles, watched a couple kids video's and read books.

Nyla made some paper dolls, made pizza pictures for her restaurant and we had tea party. She cut out pictures from an old catalouge to make paper dolls that she set around our tea party.

We did a neat craft activity, making 2 decoupage` picture plaques for her room. She sanded the plaques, painted and decoupaged the pictures onto the plaque. And guess what?? Can you believe it, I totally forgot to take some photo's :(

Well, there you have it, my holiday weekend. Trust your weekend was just as good. Have a great week ahead, I'm standing with you and will continue to cheer you on your journey. Don't give up, but instead, keep pressing ahead taking 1 step and 1 day at a time. You Can Do It. Keep up the great work! emoticon
