I've been doing way more cardio exercise than is "required" but I'd already started that habit. The daily videos are much easier than the first time around, but I still feel my 68 years when I do them. It's a little sad that when I moved easily and could go all day, I didn't appreciate what I had. Now my body constantly reminds me that it's wearing down.
The consolation is what is driving me.... use it or lose it. Stories about a 94 year old woman still practicing medicine and a former WW II fighter pilot still teaching "barnstorming" and tricks with a bi-plane... that's rewarding to hear. It's been a while since I read those stories, but the year I read it... I almost walked a 1000 miles (984 miles - stopped by too many late night walks and the resulting bronchitis).
My own grandmother lived to be 97, twenty years past my more sedentary and overweight OTHER grandmother. Both fell in their old age, but the active one did not get a broken hip like the other one did... stronger bones because she was more active and took supplements her whole life. This Spark People area if full of those active engaged people. Love it.
P.S. To those people who like to write really long blogs.... shorten them a little, please? And add some white space.... I see a huge long blog and my eyes cross. I truly enjoy reading blogs.... make it easier! I don't have a lot of time to read blogs, and as much as I like them, the really long ones are daunting! Thank you for considering my plea.
