I stayed in my calorie range last week, but I definitely sucked at eating healthy and I really need to get back to eating more fruits and veggies and low-fat foods. I mean, I like a lot of fruits and some veggies and I'd eat them if I prepared them, so I just have to stop being lazy and just prepare them.
My left knee is still sore and hurts slightly, depending on what I'm doing, but I decided on Saturday that I really need to get some real exercise in and find low-impact stuff to do that I enjoy that I can do long term. Sooo, my new exercise plan involves having my 3.5-years-old daughter, Addie, as my new exercise partner. She's crazy and just loves to keep moving, but even if she's running, she doesn't run very fast, so she's a perfect little partner. Yesterday, we raced each other across the park a few times and it was just nice and fun to be able to get some exercise in without my knee hurting and Addie was so happy to beat me every time, lol.
Every Monday, my husband goes to a college's rec center to play basketball with some friends for a few hours. It's usually relatively empty at the time he goes. So now every Monday, like today, Addie and I are just going to go with him, and we'll play soccer and tag and race each other around the indoor track. I'd say I got about two hours of good, low-impact cardio exercise today while Addie had a blast. In one instance, Addie ran about three laps around the track and I slowly jogged along with her, and it didn't hurt at all and it was awesome. As for the rest of the week, we'll be outside a lot because of gardening, so there'll be a lot of outside play, and my husband wants to start jogging, again, so we'll be starting to go to some trails.
I don't know why I didn't think about this sooner, other than my knee probably wasn't well enough to do this till this week. Still, I'm excited and happy about this new plan and being able to include my daughter in my exercise instead of trying to work around her. :)
