I am carrying my accomplishments with me!!

I had talked earlier about deleting my favorites. Following some very wonderful advice, I decided to edit and correct instead. I chose the items I wanted to keep and checked their nutritional values, while I deleted items that no longer applied.

I walked down memory lane as I deleted outdated foods. Looking at my favorites was enlightening. At one time my very favorite was Shoney's Junior Spaghetti topped with tablespoons of Parmesan Cheese for the protein! While Cheeseburgers and fries were my weekly treats!

When I gave up red meat, my menu favorites changed to chicken and snapper with a baked potato. As time marched on I made more changes. I gave up chicken and life became all about turkey and garden burgers. The Golden Arches became a landmark when giving directions and it wasn't long before turkey was removed from the menu as well.



Soda became Sweetened Tea...
Sweetened Tea became Tea sweetened with Splenda...
Tea sweetened with Splenda became Unsweetened Tea ...
Unsweetened Tea became Water...


French fries changed to Baked Potatoes with toppings...
Baked Potatoes with toppings to Baked Potatoes plain...
Baked Potatoes plain became Broccoli...
While memory lane became a string of accomplishments.



Over time I have learned about food and about myself! Therefore, I am choosing to continuing this journey. I refuse to start over and I refuse to leave my accomplishments behind.

I still have a long ways to go!

    Love your strings.
    It is wonderful to look back and see the positive changes.
    The first one that came to my mind was the reduction of sugar in my coffee.
    How I remember the journey from heaping to none.
    What other changes can we make!

    You are right. Once you stop eating all those foods that are bad for you it gets easier and easier. Your body will tell you what it wants, if you listen. I have not been paying as much attention to what I am being told and have back slid. Once you start eating that crap, your body just craves more crap....then you eat more.... crave.....eat.....aahhh...

    I went on a juice fast last fall and that did a "reboot" to my system. It cleans out all the toxins and gets you back on track. I will go back on it in June when my life slows down a bit.

    Keep making all those changes you are doing great!
