............................ i joined a gym. Fit4Less owned by GoodLife Fitness. $10 a month, taken from the bank in bi-weekly installments. it's just a basic place. none of the staff have any fitness training. it's a place where people have access to fitness equipment and machines to workout on their own. i've gone once with my oldest daughter and we both used treadmills. i made sure i was right next to her 'cause i am easily intimidated by new things. 30 minutes of walking has never gone by so quickly! we chatted and watched one of the many wall mounted TVs there. we've decided to go M, W, F. for now. next time i will go longer. no visit to day since it's a holiday and the gym is closed. very hot and humid outside so walking outdoors is not good for my asthma. i can't believe i am paying money to walk and ride a bike. (shaking head)
on the food front, i did a 5 day whole food cleanse. i just cut out processed foods, caffeine, added sugar and salt and reduced my meat intake. eating "clean". i lost 3 pounds in 5 days, but more importantly i discovered that i don't need caffeine, don't miss eating all that meat; still not eating processed food. i don't really miss salty/sweet stuff, either, unless i have a little. then i want more. i've found a good substitute for chips and the like right at my grocery store. they're called Poppers. it's a korean snack food. here's a link where you can learn more. http://www.thestar.com/living/
takes-canadian-supermarkets-by-storm i also have found that i didn't miss drinking Timmies' Iced Coffee, either. now i can take it or leave it. which is a very good thing 'cause i had gone to drinking a large one with an extra shot of vanilla base. those things are made with cream, too! i was getting one every few days.........and i'm diabetic!!
so now i feel a little better from removing these things from my diet and i very proud of myself for joining the gym. if sher, my daughter doesn't want to go, i'll have smike, my husband take me, as i don't drive, and work out by myself.
