Celery, Aloe, and why I haven't worked out in 2 days...

Monday feels great when you don't have to work! (Sorry, bragging about having this week off will probably continue until Friday).

I'm still horribly sunburnt. (See picture below)

Because of this, wearing a sports bra is pretty much out of the question. I tried last night and it scraped and burned against the sunburn. Therefore, it's been two days since I've worked out. Typically I don't work out on Sundays anyways, but I missed my Saturday strength training. Ugh :( I tried, but the lifting up and down of my arms burned. Trying to do crunches made my back sunburn feel like it was on fire. Pretty much, aloe is my best friend right now and I'm crossing my fingers that I don't peel. I'm staying very hydrated and taking ibuprofen for the burn.

Day one of my paid time off is going well so far. I plan on getting my apartment cleaned today, and I guess that is some sort of a workout, right?! I'm hoping by tomorrow the burn will have subsided enough to put that sports bra on and get back to the gym.

I'm still smoothie experimenting. I was out of spinach but I try to get those veggies in where I can so I put celery in it instead. I can taste the celery faintly but it's not overwhelming. Here's today's recipe:

1/2 cup fat free yogurt
1/2 cup almond milk
1 banana
2 celery stalks (chopped)
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup frozen peaches

Blend and love!

    smoothie sounds great! I'm super excited because I'm getting a blender from my mom this weekend- it's old, but does the trick because I hate using ice or anything frozen in my smoothies (sensitive teeth). where do you find your recipes? or do you just come up with them yourself?

    LOL...i've been burned too and the no bra + aloe is great. Do you place your alow in the fridge? My friends thought i was crazy until they got burnt and needed they all place it in the fridge. The cold feels great against the burnt skin. Ya, a bra of any kind is rough on the burn. BUT you can still do other things. Don't let your mind play tricks on you. You can still do squats (unless your thighs and butt are burned - then i'm REALLY sorry!), lunges, and i'm sure we can think of other things. BUT then again it's your vacay...and Dawson's Creek on any given day is greatness! Hope the burn doesn't linger long.

    OUCH! I have some serious sunburn from this weekend too. I almost cried when I accidently snapped my headband on my bright red forehead this morning for my workout!

    That smoothie sounds good! I really like this one with banana and spinach. The banana over powers the spinach so you can't even taste it!!
