Holy Chickens, Batman!

There is a perfectly good explanation of why I haven't posted on my blog in a while. It turns out I have turn into a hobby farmer. I have about 14 chickens in my backyard which 12 of them are producing eggs. And then I got my hands on a rototiller! Which means that the garden is going in very soon. That is a lot of organic vegetables. If you think I am joking when I say I am getting up with the rooster's crow then you might be surprised when I tell you that I am not joking at all. My rooster crow's at 4:30 every morning. So I am up and slowly adjusting my schedule so that I can rise with the crow. Who needs an alarm clock anymore?
Between the jogs with my dog, running the rototiller, and working with chickens I think I have lost a pound in two days. I feel better eating organic and my husband even commented on how much happier I am. When you thought this weekend couldn't have been more productive I am here to let you know that it was jam packed. I not only managed to be that productive this weekend but I have also been working on writing a book and fixing up my office. You see my office was turned into a storage unit over the year. I haven't used it for over 6 months because of the mess. I suddenly decided to walk into the office and clean it. I have always put this room last because everything else has suddenly become more important. All three of my book shelves have been cleaned, the floor is spotless, things are organized, my sewing drawers are rearranged, and my sewing machine has been cleaned and put away. I don't know where this energy has come from and how I am feeling so productive but I am. It could be the fact I am more active but I think a lot of it is the fact I am excited for being self sufficient. And the other fact is I am actually putting my backyard together! That is VERY exciting! After 6 years my home is becoming what I had imagined it to be.
PS. If this seems like I am rambling, I probably am. I am just that excited and happy!
