Tea! Chai Tea, more specifically, for me today, that is!
I was just going through my Spark emails and one of the Spark Staff members suggests having a day without soda. I have some soda in the fridge, right now. Both cola and root beer. But I'm not interested, yet. I started my day off with a banana and some pineapple. I then made breakfast sausage and very hearty pancakes. One pancake was enough for each of us! I also made a pot of Chai tea. Hubby and I shared the tea about equally. I'm stuffed and I'm satisfied with my fluids intake for now. As much as I love root beer, I'm so far, fine without it. I'm contemplating what we'll have for lunch. My youngest son is up but didn't sleep well, so I'm having a hard time suggesting something for him, though I don't like him to go too long without something.
Maybe, just maybe, we can go further through life without the "need" for soda if we simply eat right and get enough fluids. I may or may not have some root beer before the end of the day. I do not fear it and if I keep my positive attitude and healthy eating and fluid intake for the day, I may end up finishing the day without a mindless, insatiable craving for it. It will be a fun little experiment! I'm feeling really good about how my day has started! Beyond health and nutrition, it's also been a very productive day and the weather is the loveliest that we've had for quite a few days.
