Today was good. I ate sour gummies at a youth games night at church, which wasn't good, but the rest of the day was good. I'm still juicing about three cups of juice a day, and loving it. I'm learning to like the earthy-veggie taste a bit more.
I discovered lentils today! OMG, they're so good! I've always hated them and drowned them in ketchup whenever Mom made them. But I decided to try them out today because of their high fiber and protein content. I boiled a cup of dry lentils in about 4 cups of no salt added chicken broth, and added sea salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and mild curry powder to taste. It was INCREDIBLE!! And the nutrition profile of lentils is amazing! They should be a superfood if they're not considered one already. Lentils are considered pulse, and now I understand how Daniel could live off pulse for awhile (the Old Testament Bible story, also where we get the modern Daniel fast).
Altogether, it was a good day.
