Most of my siblings live out of state, so it's a real treat when they come to town for a visit. But we seem to make up for lost time by going at a constant whirlwind pace.
We went out Friday night after work and I didn't get home until after midnight. I'm not used to late nights like that! Yesterday we went to lunch and then to the Henry Ford museum to see the Titanic artifact exhibit and then walked around the museum for awhile. Afterwards we went to my brother's house and had a cookout and then enjoyed sitting on his deck and visiting until fairly late. He lives about thirty minutes away, so I had two late-night drives home in a row. The visiting brother wanted to get on the road first thing this morning, so there was no need to get up and go visit with him before he left. I was glad I got to sleep in a little bit this morning.
So this morning I have been paying bills, doing laundry, watering the plants, and making out my grocery list. All those odds and ends that need to get done before then next work week begins. I'll head out in a little bit to get groceries and run a few errands, and then I'll go for my walk. It's toasty outside today, but my route also goes through some wooded areas, so that should cool me off a bit, right?
In addition to visiting, I also enjoyed having my weight loss noticed. I hadn't mentioned anything to my siblings and I hadn't seen them in a few months. My sister, who continues to gain each time I see her, asked what my secret was. LOL. I told her I just eat less and exercise more. That didn't seem to appeal to her at all. Like most people, we just want an easy way to lose weight that doesn't involve changing our habits or making any real effort. My sister-in-law didn't say anything until I finally mentioned it, but she did then tell me that she had noticed right away that I had lost some weight. I'll be seeing some more siblings in late July, so hopefully I'll be down another ten pounds by then. :-)
