GIMME ADVICE!

Sunday, May 20, 2012

So after I wrote my blog and got myself set, I got in the car, and headed to one of my favorite running spots. Its a paved trail for bikers and runners, and it goes along the back bay in a ecological reserve. From the start to the finish )and a little on the street) its 3 miles. I told myself not to worry about time or distance, but get at least 30 minutes in of jogging/walking. I started out and I ran the entire 3 miles to the end of the road. Then, I turned around to head back to the car, and mostly ran with just a few walk breaks. It was getting WARM out, and I didnt bring water with me because I didnt think i'd be going on a 6 mile run! Phew.

I think from now on, I will always run with a fuel belt just to be on the safe side. Eventually I want to get a smaller one (i only have the six bottle belt) I saw someone with just one big bottle that strapped around her back.

Anyway, I get back in the car and my HR monitor said I burned 788 calories in 67 minutes. YESS! I got home, showered, and ate.

The rest of the day was uneventful. I got really down about greg, probably more about the lonely feeling. I hate feeling this way. I got myself back on the dating site, I dont want to give up searching for someone, and i cannot seem to just 'bump' into them.

Anyway, I have got to keep this exercise and healthy eating going. I know my habits always quit within a week. And lately, i've been running a long run, then I dont keep it going days after..NOT GOOD! that definitely wont give me my bikini body!

So the plan...church at 10:30, then ill have lunch and do an afternoon workout. I want to run at least 30 minutes, then I also want to either do weights at the gym, or some spark videos with my balance ball. I saw one on the start page for your butt yesterday, and today they are highlighting one for the abs.

Anyone have any 'at home' workouts to share or tips to keep my motivation going???? My friend told me that she does the 100 workout..100 situps, pushups, squats and pullups. The only issue is she does the angled pull ups and i dont have the ability to do that! but maybe ill do situps, pushups, triceps and squats? WHO KNOWS! anyway, any ideas would be appreciated!

Good job on your run!! I do a 10 minute interval pilates workout DVD when I am home. I'd rather be at the gym, but sometimes it just doesn't work out that way. Some days I will instead do 100 sets of crunches, calf raises, and squats. Or walking/jogging to the beach and back (about 2 miles total, I try and go as fast as I can).

    Good job on the run.

I love my Supreme 90 workout. inexpensive, but wow a great workout Walmart carries it and so does Bed Bath and Beyond I believe.

I know you have a similar problem as me - going it alone. When you can't catch up with a buddy to workout try a DVD. Some trainers come across so well they seem like friends that are right there in the room with you. Chalene Johnson says thinks like "I saw you, hold those abs in TIGHT!".

The trick is having something to go to that picks you up. At home, it's the TV. An episode of The Big Bang Theory will perk me up EVERY time! Think of something that makes you smile (other than food) and keep it close at hand. Never let someone else's actions get you down because you cannot control them. emoticon
