Well...this was on my mind and so id like to share.
Day lilies are my favorite flower... This is because they bloom for one day, then they close and new ones around them open. To me, this is a beautiful example of rebirth. It always reminds me to truly live each day the very best we can, and when that day is over, we close that chapter and move on to the next day. No regrets. Each new day is a chance to be the best we can be.
We should take a lesson from the day lilies in our lives and learn to do the same!
In saying this- September 5th will be my very first tattoo appointment. I will be getting a day lily with a sunset type color scheme a little above my right wrist to remind myself about The Day Lily Theory each day. And also to remind me about how beautiful life is, and that i am beautiful.
On my left wrist will be some version of an infinite love symbol
The meaning behind this symbol for me- I've had a few big losses (dad and two brothers- all at different times) And they shook me to my core. I turned to food as my way of burying my pain for years. I was so conflicted. I felt like i wanted to move on, but then i would feel guilty. The infinite love symbol was first going to just say love always- love always those loved ones I've lost, but also to always love those here on this earth who are still with me and to appreciate them every day- and also- to remind me to always love myself...and never ever let myself feel like i am not worthy of living life to its fullest....knowing i am beautiful and worth it. and worthy of love.
They will be on my wrists because this way every morning i will wake up and be able to see them right away. A perfect reminder of how i should approach the day before i even roll out of bed! Haha!
