Running and yoga

I am not sure I love running yet, know I find it tedious on the treadmill. But today outisde, it was just getting light and I could wait for my 3min warm up to be over so I could take off. I do not claim to be fast, but I really enjoyed it this morning. OK toward the end of the first nine minutes I was ready to walk at least for a min or two but then picked up the pace and went again. Toward the end I really have to talk myself into running just alittle more but I did and finished the 3.2miles in 39.29min. Roughly the same time I did it on Tuesday but faster than last sunday by a min. My heart was racing and I was sweaty but as I was on the last block I saw a red sun started coming up and was glad I was out side. I couldn't sit still once I was inside so grabbed puppy and we went for a slow walk around the block. She loved it and it gave me time to cool down. After breakfast I was feeling myself stiffen up and thought maybe yoga would help. So daughter and I headed to the Ymca and yup it did. The hip streches were the best. Now I am so tired and relaxed.
There are 3 more weeks till my first offical 5k race and I would love to finish it in 35 min but not sure that is realistic for me yet but maybe the next one. Look at me already planning my next one. Do I want to keep going and do a 10k- yay think so. half marathon - no not really . I really can't see myself doing 13 miles. There is a city where my mom and I meet once in awhille about half way between our houses and there is a 5k in august and told her I wanted to sign up.She said she would be there. Which would be really cool, since she can't come to my first one.
Weight loss since I've started training for my first race, is 2.5lb. yay I'll take it!! I shocked my body. Not going to quit zumba- too much fun but need to add more weight training consistently. Have to find a way to make this work without over doing it. I have found I want to eat healthier and passed on pizza last night with the family for a chicken salad from subway. very pleased.
Might hit the pavement running tomorrow too= can't wait.
