It's been such a long week...

A really really long week. Just trying to keep my head above water. I haven't worked out much but I have gotten my eating overall under better control, partly because I have been so busy at work that I just didn't have time to eat.

Wednesday was the no-good-very-bad-day. I felt like I was running in place at about 60 mph and getting nowhere. Every task I would start would get interrupted by another one and it just happened over and over and over... I do so hate days like that. Usually busy-ness makes the day go by faster, but this wasn't the case on Wednesday... I looked up and couldn't believe it was only lunchtime for all the crazy busy. Then a snippy comment from a co-worker just topped the day off like a rotten cherry on melted dried ice cream.

I haven't exercised as much as usual... but those times were both really good runs on the treadmill in my new skeletoes shoes, which I am really coming to love... My toes really like them, keeps them from being stiff and uncomfortable. They really stretch out nicely in them.
I liked them so much that I got a more bottom-padded pair for outdoor running.

Tomorrow I am running a 5K. My ambition is to run the whole thing. I know I can run 2 miles without stopping. So let's go for 3.1!! I hope I can beat my time from last year, which was 30:41, iirc. If you are in Central Texas, it's a first time 5K for the Third Cav (www.braverifles.org)... I hope they had t-shirts left since I registered late.

    I've been having crazy weeks like that too....let's hope the world settles down soon!

    Hope your 5K goes well. Somedays it does feel like we're running in mud. I am sure that you'll do fine.

    I had a really crappy week, too, feeling really depressed for most of it. What is that about? I haven't gotten any exercise in to speak of at all this week--mowed one night, and went for a short hike in Gans Creek yesterday, but that is about it. I admire you being able to stick to the running. I have dropped off of that again, and I'm not sure my knees and hips are ever going to cooperate to the point where I can run for more than a hundred yards or so--but hey, it's further than I was able to run a year ago, right? Maybe the stars were misaligned this week or something, and things will pick up next week. We can only hope.
