Here we are at Weekend 4 ALL READY! This has gone by WAY too fast!

This weekend I was scheduled to: "WEEK 4 - NUTRITION - Continue Project Cardio and Relax. Nutrition week - actually track a couple of days to make sure I'm really on track with nutrition. Find new recipe to try. Farmers markets should be rolling by now - check a few out and see if I can save money on produce here"

So to start with a recap:

Project Cardio is doing well - I'm walking the neighborhood circuit at least 3 times a week - it takes about 45 minutes and averages a 350 cal burn because it incorporates several hills. And I'm enjoying getting out with my mp3 and just cruising again, so that's good

Project Relax - LOL. Well, let's see - meditating lasted about 30 seconds. I am finding it relaxing to do some yoga stretches and breathing before bed, but I'm NOT good about carving extra time to do it, which means that I'm getting to bed late and am exhausted - don't think that was the intention.

This weekend is NUTRITION and coincidentally the FREGGIE BINGO challenge! So tonight I'm heading to Whole Foods to find a couple of new veggies I haven't tried. (I PLANNED during the PRE-challenge, but Friday is the day stuff is usually on sale AND the day I have some time;- ) I am pretty well stocked with my usual suspects, but need to add some variety.

I may also stop at the Sappington Farmer's market - they're starting to get some local produce in. This is a permanent store, I stopped at one of the bigger real farmers markets in the area last Saturday and wasn't overwhelmed - a lot of garden plants, but not a ton of veggies and expensive! Lots of choices for pastured eggs, though. They've only been open a couple of weeks, so I'll try again later in the summer.

I do have a couple of varieties of heritage tomatoes to add this weekend, plus I want to see if I can find rhubarb and play with that.

As far as tracking, I have started tracking again (at the request of my trainer, who wants to see my food choices). Wait until he sees last nights food! emoticon I had dinner at Chipotle, which was good and legal, but the ice cream and pretzel roll (hubby bought those and they've been on the counter looking at me for the last week - time to hide the pretzel rolls!). Sigh.

I'm still working on weaning myself off Diet Coke. AGAIN. Looking back on January - February when I wasn't drinking it, I feel like I had more energy and I KNOW I was losing weight then. Food hasn't changed that much, but stress has increased since I'm back in the office again. I don't know - do you ever get tired of trying to figure out WHY you're doing the same stuff and getting a different result?

    Yeah, diet soda's can really mess with your system. I feel so much better now that I'm no longer drinking them. I don't know about weight loss as I've had both losses and gains since I stopped drinking them.

    There's so much evidence that diet sodas hinder weight loss efforts. Some of it contradicts other theories but it all comes down to there's something wrong with it. Even more than that, the phosphoric acid pulls calcium from your bones and makes them brittle and weak. My mother had very severe osteoporosis as a result of a lifetime of nothing but diet cokes to drink. That said, I do enjoy a little mini-can of diet DP once a week or so.

    What kinda veggies are you looking at getting? Just going to browse til something jumps out at you? (because if a veggie jumps at you, i'm not sure eating it is a good idea...).
