What a difference a year makes

Thursday, May 17, 2012

WOW, I realized that even though I do not spend as much time on here lately, i have not blogged in a year and wow, what a difference a year makes. I am doing really well. I have lost 16 lbs since March when things really started to click and kick into high gear. It has been no excuses that I am to busy to exercise or eat right. This is the lightest that I have been in 3 years and since having William 7 years ago. I FEEL GREAT!!!
Ok so the tricks are of course calorie counting which is now a habit like brushing my teeth, -500 calorie deficit per day to get my 3500 deficit per week and exercise 6 days per week to burn at total of 2200-2500 cal per day including BMR. It is not has bad as it sounds and actually starting to become my norm and habit. I also am eating smaller portions more frequently throughout the day.
I ran a 10 K recently and while I will admit that my time was not the best, I realize that it is not about a persons size. There were people that finished before me that were a lot heavier than myself and people that were behind me that were a lot skinner than me. I finished before the time limit, that is all that matters!!
Goals in the next few months are to maintain my exercise, good eating and fine tune everything that I am currently doing since it is working so well. I can tend to get lazy in the summer especially during the squelching heat that we can get in VA!! UGH!! I will maintain and work on small goals.
The next goal is the lose 4 more lbs to get to the second goal weight and then I may go for another goal weight depending on how I feel.
Hope everyone is doing well!!!

This blog is so inspiring. I have begun to walk/run 5Ks to get myself moving and accomplish something I could never do before. a 10K is definitely a goal. I find that the more I exercise the better my endurance for anything. Congrats on your weight loss and plan!!
