One of my happiest memories from childhood is going to our local skating rink on Sunday afternoons. I was never very good, but I loved to skate.
Every Sunday we skated to the songs of Donna Summer. She was magical.
Years later a temp started at the office I worked at. We called her "Wacky Jeanette" because, well, she was a little wacky. She had lived quite a life & "back in the day" she had been close friends with none other than Miss Donna Summer. On the back of DS's Bad Girls album, Jeanette is one of the "prostitutes" painted on the back cover. One day, she called Donna Summer's house just so I could say hello to the iconic singer. Unfortunately she was not at home, but I did get to talk to her hairdresser.
Peace be with the Queen of Disco.
