Doctors Appoiment today...good and bad news.

Thursday, May 17, 2012

I have been having pelvic pain for about a month now and the last couple days i have been in severe pain and have had some swelling. I called my family doctor today and they got me an appoinment at a gynocologist. I went for my appoiment and the doctor was very understanding. Its the first time ive gone to a male gynocologist so i was a little nervous. The doctors asked me a bunch of questions, did an exam, then did a vaginal ultrasound. The doctor told me I have 2 fibroids, cysts on the left ovary, a aneurysm on the left uliac artery, and bacterial infection called vaginitus. The doctor also sent me for blood work to test for pcos and to test for cancer. Theres only a 1-2% of cancer.

I was put on antibiotics and vicodin for the pain. I have to go back in 2.5 weeks. The next step depends on the results of the blood work. When I go back, the dr will see if the infection cleared up and possibly put me on birth control on manage my hormones more in hopes that the fibroids will shrink. If I get put on birth control and it doesnt help with pain, I will have to have a hyperoscopy to test for endomysteriosis.

So Im glad Im finally getting answers, but the doctor still is totally sure about the pain and why Im in so much pain all the time. So im not allowed to do any kind of exercises, im not allowed to lift anything, or anything like that until atleast my next appoinment.

So i really have to eat healthy and lose weight be eating healthy and being accoutable. I know I can do because Ive been doing for the last few weeks. No matter what happens in my journey to become a healthier new me, I will not let it stop me from making the best healthiest choicest I can and no matter what it takes, I will reach my goals.

Thanks everyone for your support. The doctor really hasnt said anything about the aneurysm, so im not really sure about that. Its on the left side, and ill have pain every now and again in my left side. Maybe like a couple times a month. But all the pain is on my right side. Hopefully at next appoinment ill get more answers. Thanks for all the prayers!

I was just diagnosed with endometriosis without the endoscopy. The scope is the only sure way to find out, but based on symptoms, the doc is sure thats what it is. I am on birth control pills to manage pain and prevent the disease from progressing. I need surgery, but cannot afford it so for now, its just managing it til I can figure it out. Was your pelvic exam painful? Doc thinks I might have infection because it was VERY painful.

Glad you're getting answers! I suffer from pelvic pain as well, but for different reasons. PT has helped a little, but I've not gotten much other relief. :/ Hoping I can find a doc who can take care of it rather than the ones I've seen up to now who only partially helped.
