This morning I woke up with my tummy bothering me. So, I rolled over and went back to sleep - I figured I needed it! I did my morning Bible reading, and my son came and lay down next to me in bed while I relaxed. Tabata could wait.
We did our normal morning routine of school - nice to get back into it after my older 2 had standardized testing earlier in the week. By 11:30, the kids had all finished their assignments, and I started to think about exercising before lunch... The kids were all happily occupied, so I made a quick change into workout clothes and queued up Tabata. It.....wore....me....out.....
I was huffing and puffing and shaking and panting by the time I was finished. I had slowed down to about half my normal speed. But I finished! And burned a whole bunch of calories. Remind me to do these workouts early in the morning like I'm used to next time!
I gulped down a recovery drink, set out some food for the kids and hopped into the shower. Eventually I began to feel somewhat human again!
Once more dressed, I headed downstairs to watch a video about salt with my kids (How Things Work). And then I crashed. For about an hour I was dead to the world (except to remind my girls to please be quiet). And then my 8-year-old mentioned something about snack, and I realized I'd better wake myself up or I'd be up all night!
I grabbed a snack too and started working on our homeschool goals for next year. Even now that I've fixed and eaten dinner and gotten my girls all clean for the night, I'm feeling pretty wiped out. But I'm looking forward to going to hang out with some other homeschool moms tonight and talking about the books we've loved this year while savoring some yummy desserts - in moderation, of course!
