Where do I start?

It has been awhile since I blogged and it has been years since I felt I was heading in the right direction. My starting question -- Where do I start?

That's easy. I start back at the beginning. Just like when I started with SP. Back to the reason for the FSC -- one small step at a time and eventually I'll reach my goal.

My company has a new health initiative this year and has offered us access to a wellness coach. I was the sixth person in the company to sign up! But that was back in December. Finally today, our wellness coach is available to us and I had my first meeting.

First, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that she use to weigh almost 300 pounds and had lost over 100 from her heaviest weight and completely understands the challenges I face at my weight.

That said, we had a great first session and I have 6 more sessions scheduled to take us through the summer. As part of our meetings, we set up 4 goals for me to achieve over the next two weeks and I'm posting them here for some additional accountability. So feel free to ask me how I'm doing on my goals and booty kick me if I need it. I'll take all the support I can get!

These are almost like "streak" goals. My goal is to do these things from today through to the 31st.

1. Get my diabetes in check. See my doctor for a check-up and lab work to get a more current A1C and to take ALL of my insulin shots every day and test my blood sugars 2 times each day.

2. Follow my meal plans 6 out of the 7 days. If I mess up one day, it is ok, but I can't mess up 2+ days as I have in the past.

3. SLEEP -- ok, anyone who knows me knows how hard this one is for me, especially since I'm going to be on vacation next week. The goal is to be in bed by midnight which on a typical week day will give me 6 1/2 hours of sleep each night instead of the 4-5 I'm getting now.

4. To increase my water intake. I have a 20oz water bottle and I need to drink one of those at work each day instead of drinking diet soda.

Those are my 4 goals for the next two weeks. My coach will hold me to those and I hope you all will too.

It is time I took care of myself.

    emoticon those r 4 attainable goals. I'm gonna help bunny tie on her shoes in case you have any thoughts about not doing them... ;)
