End of Spring Challenge
Thursday, May 17, 2012
I didn't set any particular goals at the beginning of this challenge; however, my ongoing goals are to keep learning about what my body needs for weight loss and to keep losing weight. Therefore, I feel my goals have been accomplished. I will end this challenge with a weight loss and I have learned that I don't need meat or dairy products in my program. In fact, I have learned that meat and dairy products have way too many calories for their nutritional value. I also learned that broccoli has more protein per calorie that meat. Does this mean that I am now a vegan -- not really. It does look like that when you look at my meals and my grocery cart because that is the way I am choosing to eat right now. But I don't like labels and I don't feel like the odd bit of meat/chicken/fish will either send me to hell or make me unhealthy. My lifestyle is not a religion -- it is an ongoing learning experience that will result in a healthier, happier me. I haven't been on this program long enough to see what the long term results will be but I strongly suspect that they can't be anything but good. Does this mean that I will never eat another steak or choclate ice cream cone. No, definitely not. But it does mean that I am learning to make healthier over-all choices and becoming healthier by the minute!
