So Easy To Gain

Thursday, May 17, 2012

As I mentioned last entry, last week I indulged in lots of sweets and treats. I knew I had gained weight and didn't really want to see the damage. On Tuesday, I weighed in and was up 4 pounds from the last time I weighed myself on May 5th. I gain weight so easily and it drives me crazy! All of my meals during the week were homecooked (fish, chicken, and veggies) and I worked out everyday. But the indulgences still made me put on 4 pounds. I've been eating well and exercising like always this week and I weighed myself yesterday and today and I'm still up those pesky 4 pounds! I can't imagine what would happen if I stopped working out or I let myself indulge for more than a week. Well, I'd probably be right back where I started 3 years ago.

Anyway, I'll keep plugging along!

Eats for the week:

I'm really liking this workout from Pinterest:

But my favorite workout of the week was from an app called Workout Trainer. It was called Muscle Memory and it worked the entire body. Soooo many squats that my inner thighs are still feeling it today! I will definitely be doing it again!

We had our softball game last night and unfortunately our winning streak only lasted one game. We didn't play too badly but the other team played better. Here's Brian running to second!

So, that's what's been going on this week! I hope your weeks are going well!

I gain weight very easily too, and it sucks! Some of us will always have to be vigilant, I suppose. I did just read this article in the NY Times that said it takes 3 years for your body to settle on its new "equilibrium" weight post-weight loss... so maybe things will get easier soon?

Anyway, considering you were having trouble eating more than 1000 calories a day awhile back, I'm glad you are at least fueling yourself well! Hang in there!

I gain weight very easily too! I feel your pain! It's frustrating when it takes such a long time to lose weight but can creep back up so suddenly!

Those 4 lbs will come right back off with your committment to eating so well and working out every day. You eat so amazingly well that any time you indulge you will pay for it. Just be sure to enjoy the indulgences! emoticon

I'm glad that you and Brian decided to play softball again this season. Is the team basically the same (did you get rid of any lousy players or find any great ones in the off-season)? I'm glad it's fun even if ya don't win every game.

Hope you guys have a great weekend.

It's always amazing to me how many calories we can pack away in a short time. That's part of why I make a sincere point of tracking even on days I consciously decide to treat myself or go over - 500 calories over isn't going to do much; 5000 calories over will.

At least you stayed moving so you didn't lose momentum with that either. Your foods look quite delicious!

I know what you mean :-( It's miserable! I indulged over the weekend and got on the scale today and was so disappointed... haven't even updated my weight tracker. We will get through this! Focus on the BIG PICTURE, always!

The game of gaining and losing is so frustrating sometimes! Sometimes it is effortless, but other times it is just plain hard work. Good for you for maintaining a positive attitude!

So true... so frustrating. My mothers day guilt free weekend (eating wise - I ordered anything I wanted at restaurants) but I worked out hard all weekend.... still showed a gain of 5 full pounds on Monday morning. Thank God most of it was water / sodium weight - because I tightened up to near perfection all week and am down that 5 plus .9 more... phew. But still sucky how easy it is to gain!
