My brain has its moments...and an idea popped into my head this morning.
I went to a young, hip, resale shop with my daughter yesterday. She told me they sell larger sizes too. I took in some of my bigger clothes to sell. Well, they didn't want them. They're too worn. I got to thinking about how difficult it is for plus size gals to find clothing that's stylish and looks good on us. I wore my nice clothes until they became threadbare because I hated shopping when there was nothing that fit and looked good on me.
There have got to be some bigger girls who have enough money to buy nice clothes and not wear them forever. What does she do with her clothes when she's tired of them? What if she could sell them or consign them? The girl, without the big $, should have a place to buy stylish, name brand clothes and have fun shopping. They might be more inclined to spend money on their clothes if they knew there was a place to change out their wardrobes without breaking the bank. Since most resale/consignment shops cater to the tiny girl, what if I opened a shop that sells larger sizes? I like the name BabyCakes (after the old Ricky Lake movie).
I don't want a shop branded as a 'fat' store where it would be embarrassing to work or tell others about. Lane Bryant has been successful in retail though so there is certainly a market but they're more for the sophisticated older woman. Where do girls shop?
What do you think? Beautiful comes in larger sizes too.
