Last year our friend Cheryl purchased her hubby a guided kayak trip for 4 for his birthday. Well, due to surgery on his arms, our bike trips, and work schedules, he didn't get to take it till this week. We met our guides at Weiss Lake and traveled up the Little River (west branch, I think). We were his first group of the year, and he took the opportunity to bring some of his summer guides along for a training run. What delightful college students he has hired.
It was overcast most of the day, but no rain, temp was great, water was clear.
Traveling on the Little River.
Stopping for lunch.
Heading back to the launch.
There were bald eagles flying and we waited to see if we could get a picture. I didn't get one, but I think Paul did.
Great way to spend a day. We stopped at Chili's on the way home and had a great salad for dinner. We were ahead of the evening crowd and sat on the patio, so perhaps a group of disheveled kayakers weren't too disruptive.
Life is good.
