I travel often for work. A few years ago, I had over 200 flights in a year, and this year although the number of trips is down, I've been in Seattle and California, New York, Toronto, and Dallas.
When I travel, I almost always work out. I can get up early, I can make time after dinner, and I make it a very important part of my time away.
But, I'm struggling with even doing something simple at home. Last night I told my son we were going to do a CrossFit Quick session - about 5 intense minutes. We didn't even get that done.
On the road, I can wake early and go for a run. I returned from my last trip late Saturday night, and I haven't seen my Brooks since.
It's not that I don't enjoy working out. It's not that it's a low priority for me. So, is it a "mommy guilt thing?" Is it a "Distraction" thing? When I'm traveling I do two things: work and workout. When I'm at home, it's chores, bills, work, drop kids at school, handle my husband's issues... and somehow Workout doesn't make that list.
Have you experienced this? What suggestions do you have?
