I've discovered that I have some pet peeves about the locker room here at work. We have a nice little gym and I use it everyday at lunch (well...5 days a week). But I've noticed that the locker room etiquette (is there such a thing) is non-existent.
I have a locker assigned to me. We have to put our name on a list every month to have a locker. I mean it's not like all the lockers get used anyway but they dole out 10 each month to the monthly locker "winner". Since it's always the same people (those of us that use the gym a lot) I always have the same locker. But I still have these pet peeves..things that bother me..about the locker room. So here goes!
People that bring HUGE bags with them, set them on the ONE bench in the locker room, proceed to unpack said HUGE bag and lay it all out from one end of the bench to the other end.
People that use a locker (not assigned to anyone) to hang their street clothes up (which is OK) but they bring a hanger and hang them up so that the locker door can't close. Leaving little space to get around, it's like a maze sometimes, of open locker doors and hangers.
Or they open a locker and just drape the street clothes over the open door.
Leaving ones shoes out in front of someone else locker. Thus insuring someone that is using said locker has to move YOUR shoes or walk on them!
Closing the door of someone's locker just as they reach into because you are running late to get back work and you just happen to be using the locker next to mine. At LEAST let me get my hand of the locker!
And a few gym/workout pet peeves..just because I seem to be on a roll here.
Do you really think someone wants to use the equipment that you've been dripping your sweat on after your done? People..that's WHY we have nice spray bottles and paper towels to wipe stuff down with when we're done.
And no...I don't want you leaning over to see what info I'm putting into the machine! If I want you know how much I way or my age...I'll tell you!
And lastly...I'm SO GLAD I don't work next to you! I see you sweating in the gym for 30 to 45 mins, then you run into the locker room and change back into your street close while wiping down your face. They DO have showers in there you know! Or do you really think just washing your feet will help?
I'm so glad to get THAT off my chest! I know I could contact the HR rep in charge of the gym but venting here is easier.
So eating yesterday..the good and the ugly (I have to skip bad and go right to ugly). Eating was great right up until about 8:30. Then the ugly happened. I had three...yes three...ice cream bars! And while I wasn't over calories that much (a 100 or so) I felt like CRAP afterwards. I don't know what it was about last night but I just got really hungry. But I'm back in control today. Had my normal lunch but instead of a Oreo 100 Calorie Dipped Bar I had a half cup of sliced strawberries dipped in Philadelphia Indulgence Dark Chocolate. It was single serve of the dark chocolate stuff so all in all it was about 140 calories (together!) For dinner we had Corned Beef (canned kind) and cabbage.
I did watch NCIS and NCIS:LA. Then did dishes (hubby is picking up our NEW dishwasher on Friday!
) and then off to bed.
So that's it..all I can say now is..Happy Hump Day!
