A nice surprise

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

All veterans and their spouses were invited to come to
school for a breakfast buffet, provided by the Family and
Community Science teacher and the 6th grade class. We
were treated to breakfast casseroles, rhubarb or cherry
cobblers, juice or coffee. As we ate our leisurely breakfast,
the 6th graders read poems on patriotism, service to our
country, loyalty and honor. There was special chorus
selections and band music. We were treated with such
respect and I wrote a nice thank you to the teacher and
the students. DH delivered it to school so all would have
an opportunity to read it before the last day of school,
which is tomorrow.
I am planning to purchase a trellis for my Mandevilla
plant. I will go to the greenhouse tonight so I can put it
in without disturbing the plant too much. Then it can
just vine out and be supported all summer long.
DS is finishing the last of his student aid papers
today. He received his offer and now has to accept
or decline the type of aid he wants. One more step into
Have a wonderful afternoon and thanks for stopping by.

The students appreciated your thank you and I'm glad you enjoyed the program. If you had the rhubarb cobbler, it was from my patch. emoticon

Sounds like a wonderful day and well deserved by the Veterans. Planting the Mandevilla sounds like one of my days recently. Plant one each year to climb the pole our birdhouse is on and we have birds who use the house each Spring. We love to sit on the patio and see them carrying food in for the little ones. emoticon
