First fitness!!

So I joined the challenge to do 10 minutes of exercise at least five days a week for four weeks. I started looking for videos in here that I could start with, I found Coach Nicole´s 10 minutes kickboxing workout video. I know 10 minutes is not much, but as I finished doing it, I realized how unfit I currently am, I was so tired and out of breath I couldnt believe it. Seeing as fortunately I am a very positive person, this just encourages me to do more every day until I feel the difference. But I still feel quite surprised about it.

I guess living in denial is pretty easy, specially when it has been going on for a long time, but I think I am changing my mentality this time, and I truly believe a small step is better than no step at all, so hopefully, with a little bit of patience and of course a little help of my friends (old ones and new ones I will make here), it will all just go great!!

    10 minutes is a great start! I know from years of doing nothing all day, you have to start somewhere. Sometimes starting smaller is better because at times I get carried away and jump into routines, and the difficult part hits me later. I have injured myself multiple times from starting off too fast so I'd say 10 minutes is a nice building block.

    I came back home and gave that 10 minutes video another go.. I am happy to report that it went much better!! Not sure why but I was not super out of breath or feeling like I was about to pass out.. which is awesome!!

    Just had to share that!

    Thank you!!! I am feeling quite encouraged, I am not sure if it is because of the warm welcoming or because of it being my first week, but I sure want to remain this way!

    Congrats on finishing the video! And don't think for a second that 10 mins of that video isn't much. I looked it up on the spark fitness (I don't know if you knew or not, but just in case, if you click on add cardio and go to other exercises, they have all those kinds of videos listed) and just to give you a idea of how much that is, I would have burned 210 calories from that 10 min video, while walking for 30 mins at a 20 mins a mile would have only burned 196 calories. Of course your calorie count will be different since you are a different weight and height and all that, but still! What you just did is working your body more then walking for 30 mins! Way to go! emoticon

    I love how positive you are about this. And you are right, it's baby steps that will get you there. Personally I think it's alot better then running full speed, if you do that you would get burned out and less likely to keep with your goals. Keep taking those baby steps and you'll get there before you know it.

    Yea!! Good for you! I have a goal with that same video - to do it all! lol I can do about 5 min then I have to walk through the rest of it!! But I keep walking ;)
