Sleep Log - Nights 3 & 4 Quick Note

Got up Sunday at 7:30, back to bed (tried) at 8:30 but didn't actually go to sleep for several hours. Nights before I work are some of the hardest - need to sleep but can't get to sleep. Ended up taking the Ambien around 11:00. Thank the Lord it wears off quickly for me. That's not good in some ways, but means I can get a way with taking it and still get up at 5:00 for work.

It's 11:00 pm now and I'm wide awake, even after a very trying 12 hour shift. I did all my usual stuff at bedtime, listened to a podcast of a favorite speaker that I frequently fall asleep on and have to listen to each one twice emoticon and I'm about to take Ambien. For one thing, my back is really complaining after a long day and when I hurt it's hard to sleep. I am due to switch to night shift in a few more weeks and I sure hope I can get some progress with this by then.
