The countdown to the garden tour breaks the printer

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

Let me start off by saying I can't wait to get my new printer:

I've wanted one for a few years.
I finally broke the old printer by printing the flyers for our garden tour. I guess 600 prints was just too much to expect. Good thing the print shop was able to finish the printing for me in a few hours ($200 later).
Speaking of which, the countdown is on. Scarely 4 more days to the tour. And word on the street is, this is going to be big.
Everyone I see is excited. Everyone is getting ready. It's crazy, but the excitement is so palpable in the neighborhood.
Yesterday, while I was distributing flyers, I passed one of host homes, where the homeowners were busy doing yardwork. The wife was digging and planting. The husband was scooping forks of mulch out of the back of his truck and into a large wheelbarrow. I smiled and asked them if they were getting ready for the tourists. The wife smiled and said yes, they were very busy. The husband smirked and jokingly said he didn't know how to thank me.
And so many people have contacted me just to express their enthusiasm, and tell me how much they're looking forward to being on the tour NEXT YEAR- indicating perpetuity, which amazes and gratifies me.
And... I dropped another hundred bucks on plants today.
Yikes, get me through this.
