4 days, 17 hours, etc.
I'm alternating between panicking and being calm... I mean, I have done training (even if I haven't done specific speed workouts, hills other than what's naturally there on my regular running routes, etc.)
I've got my hotel confirmation printed out. I've also printed out my registration confirmation. (I need to print out the discount coupon for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame admission..since that is one thing my mom said she wanted to do while we're there.) Bought a replacement water bottle for my fuel belt (one got lost in 2011 Marine Corps 10K.) I've also bought some GU.. only trained with it a little bit, but it didn't bother me, so I think I'm good there.
And during my last "long" run (though by this point 5.5 mi didn't feel quite so long..lolol) I wore all the gear I plan on wearing at the race... (The pink thing off to the right of the sidewalk is my water/fuel belt)
Posing with my boy here. My girl was busy watching one of her shows or something... I'll have to make sure to get a photo with her soon -- don't want her feeling left out!
As for May goals.. I don't know... the bootcamp thing - I did great the first week, but slipped last week. And I'm now a little behind on the pushups challenge I gave myself, but I think I can catch up on that.
I'm toying with the idea of dropping out of the bootcamp challenge. I think I put too much pressure on myself... I am still going for the pushups self-challenge and the 1200 fitness minutes. Even if I don't get 1200, I am sure I will break 1000. :D
As for the scale... last week 191, this week 194... yepper, +3 lbs. BUT I'm still 59.2 lbs down. Basically still on this stinking plateau. My leader thinks the stall/plateau is from training for the half... I don't know.. maybe? What is really funny is my own attitude... in the past its made me want to throw up my hands and throw in the towel.. this week I'm more "meh"... I'm not going to give up..and I'm not giving up distance running. That scale needs to get with the program! (LOL)
I may give my primary care doctor a call and see if he got my letter/request for a referral to a sports nutritionist or something...
Tomorrow I have a "Teddy Bear Picnic" at my library.. its a very family-friendly event for all ages. Basically I'm going to lead the parents and kids through a bunch of great "move your body" songs and we'll do some fingerplays..then my colleague is dressing in a bear costume and will lead a "Teddy bear parade" around the park... followed by juice and cookies paid for by our friends of the library.
I just hope we can have it outside... the weather has been iffy today, and if the ground gets too wet outside... well, we'll have it inside our meeting room. But outside would be better.
And that's the latest ramble from Pixiemom!
