3 year Spark-a-versary

Monday, May 14, 2012

Sunday was my 3 year anniversary on Sparkpeople. I am 27 pounds down from my biggest. 21 pounds down from my heaviest spark weight and 7 pounds into my most recent battle of the bulge. I did not think I would still be in this war. I reached my goal weight in Dec. 2009 and stayed there are a little more than almost 6 months. Grad school has been far crueler to my lifestyle than I expected. Lack of regular meal times and a nonexistence sleep schedule.I'm a stress eater with a bad habit of not reaching for the carrot sticks during exam week. My gym time seemed to evaporate like my bedtime. I keep coming back to Sparkpeople even if I haven't been following as carefully as I should and I think that reminder has helped me be mindful enough to not loose more ground than I have.

I'm a couple months away from much needed vacation and quality time with the boyfriend. There are beaches on the docket and the bikini is due to make another appearance. Swimsuits aside, I would like to fit in all my clothes and be able to look myself in the bathroom mirror without feeling like a squashed stretch armstrong. As crazy as this summer is, it's my last semblance of normalcy until after my thesis is finished. Now is my best chance to establish a routine to last me through the craziness till next May and hopefully make some progress.

I'm currently:
7 pounds to tolerant
12 pounds to settling
17 pounds to goal

Happy Spark-a-versary to me!
