I've been waiting for my winter garden Brussel sprouts to mature. Then I will be able to plant the spring items. It may be too late. This comming Fall, I think I will plant the winter garden sooner.
Oh... I'll be "putting up" my Loquats by making Jam today. It's may Father's favorite jam. His mother (my Grandma) used to make it. emoticon

Gosh, I had the same problem when we moved to our new home in 1996.
I stared adding layers of grass clippings and mowed over leaves, sand , shredded newspapers and peat moss from the past years hanging pots, to a specific area that would be designated for our future garden. Every spring, I would rototil the area and add the new years worth of goodies...After 3 years, I had an absoltely wonderful area and am still using it and adding more as needed.
I know it took time but it worked and now I have my special place to grow my goodies to eat and can.

Come join us on the Putting Foods Up Team...Would Love to have you with us...
