Jenny Craig vs. nutrisystem

Monday, May 14, 2012

I'm considering my options tonight. I'm desperate to get a handle on my appetite.

I need to know if anyone has had luck with Jenny Craig or nutrisystem.

Hi again------dog lover!!!------How is it going??-Did you join Jenny C. or some weight group??--Whatever it takes to get it off--go for it----Man! I've belonged to every weight loss group there is--even ran some of them---When I stopped going, the weight just piled on----and more----I am trying so hard to stick to Spark---(last nite tho we were at McDonalds)-----even then tho--I didn't choose to eat the Delux whatever--had fish--so I have learned something on Spark--and I get on that Dreadmill faithfully---I know what there is out there for me--lurching in the sidelines----high blood pressure and diabetes--both are bad news---Anyway, I appreciate you reading my blogs----I hope you stick to some kibnd of healthy eating---It's harder when you are older--*S* Lynda

Well--I feel your pain--you just want ""it"" off--like Barb says--they all work-but--one day you have to come off them and just live normally---But "'living normally"" as a thinner person which is going to be tough too--to maintain--Oh man, it's hard--I hear you!---Lynda

I think all will help you lose weight, but what's hard is KEEPING it off. That's been my lifelong struggle and of course each time it gets harder to lose the weight AGAIN. This time I'm taking a different approach by becoming a more active person. I feel I already know how and what I should eat, but it's a challenge to burn enough calories with a desk job. Now I'm taking a beginners running class, I incorporate more moving around into my day, and try to find ways to move more. So far I've not lost one ounce but the scales have stopped climbing, so I know I'm on to something. We are all an experiment of one -- you have to explore to see what will work for you. I'm been tempted by those programs, too, but don't think they would help me in the long haul.

choose healthy real food. You have to buy it anyway to compliment their packaged stuff.
Anything will work if you committ yourself.Im talking to myself here.I go on junk food binges and I feel like a zombie till I go back to healthy eating.

They all work, if you stick to them. Just depends on how much money you want to spend. But keep in mind that once your time with their "program" is over you MUST have changed your eating habits or you will end up just putting on the weight again. Personally it doesn't make it worth it for me.

By the way, I've done JC, Nutri, WW, Atkins, Zone - you name it! Sparks has been the ONLY one that has kept the weight off. I may not have lost all I want (YET) but I have NOT put it back on (up and down, yo-yo).

Each of us is different - find what works for you!

What John said... you have to find what works for you. My experience? They all work. But what really counts comes from within. I lost 80 pounds with Weight Watchers. I lost 70 "on my own" reading the books by the RealAge doctors. I lost 75 with Jenny Craig. I maintained for a while going to OA meetings.

Find the support that clicks with you for NOW and for your lifestyle NOW... because that, too, can change over time. Budget is important, too. Don't feel bad or like a failure if you CHANGE programs to get a boost, but whatever program you choose, follow it, trust the process, and be patient.

There are no silver bullets or magic overnight solutions... it's all one day at a time, and as long as you pick one that balances nutrition, exercise, and support for the mental / emotional side of things... go for it!

And don't forget the Spark... the really neat thing about this site is that whatever program you choose you can find someone else who is using it and can cheer you along! emoticon emoticon

I think you have to find the one that works best for you. don't most of them have "free trial periods."

Much Love

I haven't used either but I've gone back to my old Weight Watchers plan, not their latest one, the one before that which I lost a lot of weight with before I was ill.
Hope you can find something which suits you. emoticon
