Say NO to cake!

Wednesday, March 28, 2007

I work for a company that L-O-V-E-S the cake. You name an occasion (birthday, retirement, baby, etc) and they'll have huge yummy cakes. And I look forward to Cake Day, and usually end up eating a piece, even if I shouldn't. Well today, they had this massive 3 layer vanilla-mousse cake with lots of chocolate frosting.... and I walked in, and walked out. I wasnt even tempted to eat it. The funny thing is, I realized that I used to eat cake because it was there, and it was free. Today, I was like "You know what? I don't even WANT cake right now." I was so proud of myself. Seriously, this was like a huge accomplishment. GO ME!

I read the comment about the doughnut and now I feel very dumb. I was trying to get it off and write it over again but I didn't know how to. I'm very sorry about that big mistake. What I was going to say is that I have a hard time going to the store without stopping by the doughts. I hope that I can walk into the store and walk right by the doughts and never get it a another thought.

I walk into the store and Igo right to the doughtnut. The I usually get is the apple fritter. That is going to be hard to give up I alway say that this is the last time I eat a apple fritter. The time I go to the store is to doughnut again. I hope that Icanjust walk away like that and say no.

I know what you mean about "free" food. It's like going to a buffet, where you have paid the entry fee and want to eat your dollar's worth (and then some).

The problem is, it might be free food dollar-wise, but calorie-wise is a completely different story.

Oh my! That's awesome! I have struggled (and won!) in the past at refusing that slice of someone's birthday cake at work or some dessert after our family Sunday dinners! Go me! Go you! What a success! Cake...blech! lol.
