Food, Food...and More Food

Monday, May 14, 2012

Well, last week is finally over!! For those of you that don’t know, it was “Teacher Appreciation Week” which somehow turns into “Man vs. Food Week” at my school. The parents are extremely generous and brought in goodies for us alllll week, starting with breakfast on Tuesday, lunch on Wednesday, dessert day was Thursday and Friday was lunch catered by the principal. Yikes! I can only imagine the damage I did. I was since conscious of the foods I ate, however, I feel super guilty for not even trying to track. It was only one week I let myself “go” for lack of a better word. I didn’t do so well this weekend but didn’t do horrible either. All in all, today is Monday and I am back to tracking and back to the gym.

I have a race coming up on May 28, Memorial Day, and it is my first 10k. So far I have run two races, one was a 5k and the other was a 5 miler, so I know this is my next race to tackle. A 10k is 6.2 miles and if I train enough, I have no doubt in my mind I will be able to finish (that is my goal…just finish!). I ran on Saturday afternoon for an hour, I didn’t calculate the mileage but I am guessing probably around 5ish or so miles. I walked here and there a few times, for a total of maybe 5-7 minutes. My goal is to run twice this week outside, besides the intervals I do at the gym. I can do it…I can do it….. ;)

As for my Biggest Loser Contest (that I do here at school…) I didn’t weigh in on Friday because I was scared of what I would see…so I will face the facts on Friday when I weigh in. Hopefully I have lost or even maintained from the last weigh in two weeks ago. I need to get this last 10-15 pounds off so I will be ready/feeling good for summer.

Well, that is my venting for the day. I hope all my Sparkies have a great week….
xoxo

Life throws us these challenges from time to time. Learning to roll with them is the secret. we will all have times of excess and then we get back on the plan, exercise healthy eating and strictly no "dieting"!
Good luck with the race
