Putting in work!

Hopefully all you mothers out there had the best Mother's Day ever! emoticon

Mine started out kind of rocky. I woke up at 1AM to use the little girls room and my left eye was in excruciating pain. I thought something was in it but after a thorough investigation, I found nothing. It was red, burning, and wouldn't stop tearing. I went back to sleep and the pain woke me up at 4AM. UGH!

So with my one good eye, I search the web for a cure. Who needs doctors anymore? emoticon What I found out was I probably scratched my cornea. There are many nerve endings in there and that's why I was in so much pain. emoticon

I know the pain was more that what the damage was but all I could think of was permanent eye damage and I wanted to go to the eye doctor right away. Ever try to find an eye doctor at 4AM on a Sunday morning? emoticon Ain't happening. I could go to the emergency room, right? How silly will I look sitting there amidst all that trauma and me telling them that I scratched my cornea in my sleep. emoticon So I quickly ditched that idea.

I whined all morning about how this was going to be the worst Mother's Day...ever. Meanwhile hubby presented me with a beautiful white sapphire ring and a bouquet of irises. Hmmmm...things are starting to look up. However, I couldn't go out to breakfast because my eye was dripping buckets and I'm sure no one wanted to see that while they were eating.

So we went out to pick up some plants for my mom's balcony and a gift for my M-I-L. We bought her an iPod for her walks. She was so happy when she opened it. She kept yelling, "Ohhh, I got an i-thingy!"

In the afternoon we went to my son's basketball game. It was the playoffs and they lost by one point. Heart-wrenching to watch. But it was a good game. I bought some new dark jeans and by the time the game was over, I rubbed most of the dark color off of my thighs. Now they are distressed.

After the game we stopped by the farm for some goodies. Mom got a sample of fudge. My M-I-L didn't want a sample, she got the full-size. Hubby got some apple cider donuts and Kina got a cupcake. I was saving my calories for dinner.

About 4PM we went out for dinner. We all had the most delicious, melt-in-your-mouth prime rib. OMGoodness! We had the salad bar, baked potatoes and those warm rolls. When my sister took a bite, her eyes fell back in her head. Yeah, they're that good. Our hostess was the best and she has us as her customers for life. We ended dinner with dessert.

This place is a saloon and grille and when my M-I-L found out they offer country line dancing lessons, she already had us signed up. Stay tuned....

By the end of the evening, my eye stopped hurting and I realized I just had the best Mother's Day...ever!!!

But today, I've got some serious calories to burn. So this week my goal is simple:

PUT IN WORK!

Make today great!
