I found courage to post my weight today. As with every time I begin a "diet" my weight went up, 8#, I have lost 7 of that. I am pleased. I did not post activity today. I spent most the day outside washing pots. I have transplanted to larger pots. I am not waiting until fall to clean these. Most folks will put a bit of bleach in the water to kill bacteria. I used washing soda. I am allergic to bleach big time. When I begin plants 2013 I will rinse the washing soda off in vinegar water. I will be giving away many pots. I have plenty enough to choose those which match. A non-profit pick-up is on tuesday. I have one and a half boxes ready to set out. That more than matches the 7# lost on my body.

Washing soda is a strong cleaner, Mostly used to roughen the surface of enamel or gloss paint when applying other than same paint. It is caustic. That is why it works. I wore a glove on the hand dipping into that solution. When I was done I poured the left over liquid on the weeds in the concrete drive. It works but with caution. Check the box for other uses. My daughter mixes it with borax for an unscented dishwasher soap. emoticon

I've never used washing soda as a disinfectant. Good tip!
