Fitness Minutes

I thought I was doing pretty good on my fitness - not as good as some, but not bad for me with my other obligations. I average 30 minutes per day, which is what I would expect a lot of people to be doing. I have been looking at the top fitness minutes member lists that just came out for the teams I have joined and there are 7-800 other team members with more minutes so far this month. Now I don't feel like I'm doing anything at all and start to feel like I will never be able to make the grade! You have to scroll through several pages to get to those with less than 2-3 hours PER DAY.

Can anyone tell me how the average person, who works full time and also has obligations at home, can possible put in 2-3 fitness hours EVERY DAY? They must be fitness trainers or something, right?

2400 minutes so far for May, divided by the 13 days in May (that's counting today) equals 184.6 minutes per day, divided by 60 minutes per hour equals just over 3 hours per day. If they did less than 3 hours on any given day, then they would have had to do even more than 3 the other days to have that many this month.

Please tell me I'm not doing as badly as this makes me feel!

    Thank you both for your comments. I feel better already! I agree, I think some must be adding in all the little things the we are just counting as 'bonuses' to help us reach our goals but aren't logging in. I do extra stuff throughout the day, whenever I'm standing waiting for something or as I get ready for bed...any opportunity I see to fit in even just a few extra exercises I figure will help but I don't think to go back and add them in. I do add in, as you both do, when it's something not daily like mowing the lawn. Thanks for the encouragement and you both keep up the good work too - because we are worth it! emoticon

    I don't know how they get that many minutes either. Not sure what they are all counting as fitness minutes. I for one count any exercises that I do with a CD or tape or whatever, bike riding, walking (like down the road or to Leslie Sansone), or stuff that I don't do every day (like throw hay down and restack it, ground working or riding my horse only some of the minutes). It just depends how hard I was working. I like to think that a lot of stuff is just a bonus, and I don't count all the little stuff. I guess you just have to do what works for you. But if you get in 30 minutes a day, I think you are doing great!!! You just have to do what works for you. emoticon

    You know that I feel the same way..... I average about an hour a day I believe as I have not felt well and only been doing about 30 minutes on the bike and 2 videos. I am not working, but I have family obligations, laundry, dishes, and cleaning house. I have animals to care for as well... not to mention time to eat. I don't understand how people manage it or if I am doing something "wrong". We are not on the Biggest Loser ranch...... I think we are doing what we can and something is always better than nothing. If we are making progress that is all that matters. It may take us longer, but it will happen!
