Hi Everyone,

A few weeks ago I went to the doctor and found out that I am pre-diabetic. I was completely overwhelmed. I know that if I can lose a great deal of weight I will likely get out of the pre-diabetes range, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it. I have a one-year-old who has been going through a really clingy phase, but I want to try and see if I can start going to the gym while they watch him. I am not sure if it will work though. I also have no idea what to eat every day. I have so little time to cook, so I want a REALLY simple food plan that works. Any suggestions or ideas would be amazing.

I agree with taking your child in a stroller. We went to the park a lot when my son was young and as he got older,we rode bikes and took walks at the this age, just letting them play at the park is great.Maybe you could do some food preparation when your child is napping.Hang in there, next thing you know ,they will be heading off to kindergarten.time goes so fast

If you can't swing the gym, you might opt for a stroller, and teaching your little one to enjoy a brisk walk. The more you go the longer your walks can get- if you end up at a park somewhere in the middle of the walk , and let him out to play, you can wear him out and make the walk home even longer. My kids both went through the clingy stage, it'll pass.

I agree with BELINDADUVESSA, pre planning takes out the stress, and keeps me on track. Some favorite low cal blogs are

Here is a free printable planner

this same site also has 3yrs worth of preplanned family menus-some are pretty good.

Crock pots and stir frys are my go-to quick meals. Or anything with 5 or less ingredients or lower than a 30 minute start to finish cook time. You can do searches online to find stuff. Alot of it, though, is just planning. The weeks I plan my Menu out, everything is so simple and I don't have to worry about what to cook. Some weeks I don't plan, and I become lazy and every night becomes a sandwich night. So planning, and researching of good recipes, and my advices.
