I was thrilled when my sister called early this morning to go for a walk. We were hoping that the Fer-de-Lance (Spearhead) Trail, at Orford Park, was now open. It was.
It's a beautiful trail!
There are lots of stairs to climb.
It's only 3.1 miles in length, but it's the most difficult trail I've done so far this year because there's so much climbing to do.
Walking to the viewpoint on a carpet of pine needles.
We would have needed a wide-view lens to capture the panorama at the viewpoint.
A beaver enjoying life, oblivious to all of the beauty around him.
After walking/hiking the Fer-de-Lance Trail, we went for an easy walk near the lake. It was so beautiful outside, that neither us wanted to go home!
What an inspiring WALK! I LOVE the woods..it's soooo peaceful and inspirational. I wish we had more places like that to walk in FL. I am lucky though as we have the beach only about 10 minutes away. The problem with that is the tourists that you have to wind around and over...hee..hee. We are grateful to them though as they bring their business to our small consignment gallery. We are always sad when they fly back north for the HOT, HOT, summer. I wish I were going with them..the summer's here are BRUTAL! But they are worth it for the beautiful winter climate. The yen and the yang right?
What beautiful scenery and inspiration to keep you walking- even with the landscape challenges (those were a lot of steps!) I'm sure you're enjoying the company of your sister and you're motivating each other to stay healthy. Again, thanks for sharing....
Wow! Breath taking scenery!! Amazing you can see your beaver in the day time. Ours don't make an appearance until the sun is setting..All those stairs! Great exercise! Mom's steep hills get my hams sqawking. Your trails remind me of the ones I took in BC. Miss the smell of pine and that soft carpet of needles! Keep on enjoying those trails (and sharing them with us!) Have a Super Sunday!
I'm a little jealous of your great walking trails! I walked around town and found a new bakery and a new consignment shop. However, your trails are much better. Beautiful!
