Whewwwww, it has been a busy week! Last Sunday I ended up running 8 miles with my sister, and then doing an additional 1.5 miles running at home, plus some walking. So that was good, and I am feeling pretty on track as far as getting in my training miles.
From Monday to Wednesday I was at a conference in St. Louis, Missouri. I really enjoyed St. Louis! And the conference was great. It was about supported employment programs for individuals living with mental illness. A program in my agency won an award, and I was invited to go because I had worked with that program on a grant for 6 months + last year. I was really honored, and there were a lot of awesome people there doing great work.
As far as traveling to and from, I did well with making good choices! My flights were changed/delayed and I ended up having to eat a meal by necessity at airports each way, but I made good choices and on both travel days stayed within my calorie range.
I also got plenty of exercise in... I walked on my layovers, and walked in St. Louis every day, and used the hotel gym and pool on Tuesday night.
And then I had two busy busy busy days at work, and then this AM I had a 10k race in Woodstock Vermont called the Road to the Pogue. It goes through a national forest, a beautiful and challenging trail race. I ran it last year in ~1:06, and this year I ran it in ~1:20. I know that I am not as well conditioned physically as I was last year, so that result was not a surprise. It was a beautiful day and I am glad that I ran it again!
Next up: my half marathons! KBVCM is two weeks from tomorrow, CBHM is three weeks from tomorrow.
So here are some St. Louis pics, a few cat pics (for fun!), and a good shot that my sister got of me as I was coming to the finish of my race this AM. Enjoy!
