Oh, I saw that the other day. It put a smile on my face. Attitude is everything. (my mom was a palliative nurse for years dealing with end-of-life cancer patients. I'm going to send this to her).
Thanks Ceri - We lost our gd earlier this year and spent a lot of time at the Children's Hospital here in Houston. It is amazing to me the stregth of children and their willingness to fight. Great video
My GS doesnt have cancer,. but another rare disease, and will not make it much longer, his courage is AMAZING to all of us who are PRIVIGED To love and be with him!! The nurses and Dr's who work with him, are TERRIFIC and keep things going,,, LOL I call him "KING Brat !" its a joke between us, and keeps the humor going. He's soon moving to Denver from ME for better medical treatment, that totally breaks my heart, but for better medial treatment it HAS to be done. He's now 20 and I "guess" you can't "any longer" call him "a child"? or can you? He's not your usuaul "man" in that he's always sick and will not be able to live a "normal life". Sad? Well if you choose to look it that way,,,,,, we choose to look at as,,, wonderful to have him in our lives. He's a fine person,,, thanks hon for being with us, he's almost died a number of times, we been terrified to death that everyday now is a blessing to be with him. All but his Mom sees it this way,, her heart of course is just broken into a gazillion pieces,,,, shes not recovering,,,, in that we've found out in Jan,,, there's no longer any hope.
Thanks for posting, Ceri. It was in this morning's paper but I'd forgotten to look it up. When the article was written yesterday, the video had 900k hits. It's now over a million! Way to be takin' it viral Seattle Children's!!
How could that video break your heart? The spirit those kids show is nothing less than amazing. And to see the parents sharing those moments on film with their kids is what brought the tears. Where do they day after day find the strength to go through this disease with their children? And I've always been in awe of hospital workers that work the pediatric floors.
