I almost waited until Sunday or Monday to start keeping track, but then I thought, NO! Blaze a new trail for Day 1! So here is my day with my tracking at the end ...
Today was fairly lazy compared to most days...
I had to take DS11 to school because he had a vase of flowers for his girl teacher, a baggie of his guy teacher's favorite candy (ugh, I hated getting it but *we* weren't eating it!), and the scale model of the room he made for the 5th grade project. Then when I got back home to see the middle schooler off and wake the homeschooler, I discovered the homeschooler had something on her face - long story short - poison ivy, all around her eyes and all over her cheeks - grrr ... that started an herbal regimen until we could get to the doctor (since it was around her eyes I wasn't taking chances). Then back to the elementary school for the transitional meeting for my rising 6th grader. Back home to finish my shopping list and more herbal remedy. Then off to the doctor - loooove her - loved how the slippery elm paste really started clearing her face compared to her legs and neck that didn't get the rubbing off her face did cause the mask of paste hurt when she tried to eat! Also the anti-itch tea I made her kept the itching at bay until we were almost to the doctor. So doc gave her some steroids to help clear it up sooner and said keep doing the two herbals I was treating her with since they work for the itching and also for the clearing up and she didn't have anything like that in her arsenol to help! Then we ran home to grab the other kids for the gymnastics banquet which is where dinner was tonight.
As for my goals - well they had to be mixed in the foray somewhere ...
1) WATER ~ 8 cups
I actually packed water bottles ahead (leaving the tops off until time to transport) I drank one of them and didn't even touch the other while we were in the school meeting or the doctor's office! This is where I need to learn to siiiiiiiiip lol
2) SALADS ~ That was my whole dinner ... a huge salad (everyone had long since finished before I finally reached my limit - I was getting stares and comments about how slow I eat ... oh well, dealt with it all my life, it's nothing new) .... spring mix lettuces, strawberries, mandarine oranges, craisins, and pecans - YUM!!! Since we were out and I didn't bring a dressing with me I wound up getting my weakness - blue cheese.
3) GREEN SMOOTHIE ~ A whole quart!!!
I didn't expect it or plan on it, I just made it .... 2 oranges, 1.5 cup peaches, just over 2 cups salad greens (with a touch of red cabbage and matchstick carrots mixed in), 1 tbsp flaxseed meal, 1/4-1/3 cup coconut milk, 1/4 cup blackberries (home picked from our backyard last year), 3/4+ cup blueberries!
4) HONEY & CINNAMON ~ 1Tbsp honey, 1 tsp cinnamon
DD8 was having oatmeal which sounded like a great place to put honey and cinnamon in ... it was! I can't eat oatmeal every morning though - I might try it in my smoothie as well ... I'd like to figure out several options along the way. I'm gonna try within this next week, just making a paste out of the amounts I had today and eating like that ... it's almost exactly the way I take my honey and garlic when I'm sick - we'll see!!
Overall, I'm happy, even though I'm a little disappointed with my water intake ... I just have to get over this drinking "in public" thing! Maybe I should just make my herbal teas to take in public cause I can sip if it has flavor - but water, I guzzle down 8 ounces at a time each time. Why must I be so complicated?
