I thought I had blogged last week but when I looked at my Spark page I saw that it has been nearly two weeks!
In these two weeks so much has happened and it feels like I’ve been riding a roller coaster.
First, as most of my Sparkfriends know, I started a new job on April 29 while continuing to work part-time for the company I have been with for 5.5 years. I think I am finally getting into a routine and now have to get regular fitness worked in. Thankfully there has been a lot of yard work to do – helping me to burn some calories.
The new job is so great as are all the people I work with. It is such a happy and friendly place – people have gone out of their way to greet and encourage me; and I am amazed at how much I have learned so far. I can see myself working here for a very long time!
I had to travel to Minneapolis to attend new employee orientation at the University of Minnesota college campus on Wednesday (drove down Tuesday evening with my mom and we stayed with a cousin). It was a beautiful day out and I was able to walk around both the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses as I went from one session to another. I of course felt like an old mother hen with all those young students, while at the same time felt energized by them. It was an awesome day until it was time to drive home. It took almost two hours longer due to road construction and I was getting so frustrated by the lack of consideration some drivers showed. I was so happy to get back to my little, quiet town.
This new chapter in my life looks to be pretty exciting.
I am looking forward to a quiet weekend - spending time with my youngest son and with my family on Mother's Day. My oldest son has to work and will not be coming home, making it the first Mother's Day he won't be with me. I am okay with it because he always finds little ways to show me just how much he loves and appreciates me.
Happy Mother’s Day to all moms.
