I just realized I've only ate one thing today and it's 12:40 am (yep after midnight but I slept all day) so I'm about to go make a sandwich but wanted to blog first.
First I want to say that I am soooo surprised with myself. I knew 10 years ago I would have loved martial arts but thought I was too out of shape or focused or old or whatever to do it today. Then I started seeing others older and more out of shape then me succeeding at it. So I decided to try, last year, but did not make it becaus I injured myself. Now I am in it!! OMG I love it!!! My son and I started Tae Kwon Do together. He's 18 so we are in the same class. First day I was told how amazing my flexibility and kicks are. Ya, I'm pretty flexible, love stretching, but got some room to work on. I've had 4 classes now and look forward to going back next week, and week afer, and week after, and so on. I'm so excited about where I might be at in the class a year from now that I've lost focus of where my weight might be in a year. PERFECT!! I hope to continue this track....
I haven't lost weight yet but I did stop weighing everyday. I saw the scale today and thought, huh, it's been since before I started the new class. I'll give it more time before I get frustrated at not losing. I'm bouncing with about 4 lbs. but mostly 138-140.
Down times with Ups: I forget to eat or eat wrong but I'm juicing. I need more juice recipes and good product to buy. I'm not drinking as much water, again I'm juicing though. I must get back to focusing on this before it gets out of hand. I love water but it's getting kind of boring and I refuse to add packets of anything to it. With summer around the corner I'll be drinking tons again without thought. I have not been exercising 30 min/day as the Beck program wants but Tae Kwon Do is 60 mins 3 times/week AND I got on the elliptical one of those days this week for 10 minutes. We plan to start riding bikes to class on Mondays now cause my husband stays after so we can load bikes up in his car to bring home after class when it is dark. We have talked about swimming after some classes so perhaps we'll start that on Wednesday or Fridays and I'll add the elliptical on the other days. Eventually I'll get comfortable enough to go to the gym on our off days but for now I'll use those days to do strength training at home. I have a ball and weights, in fact I use my 2 lb (now 3 lb) free weights often with my ball. Ya, I noticed I'm going up slowly in some weight...yay!
I use to too look at my 2 lb weights with a sigh and 'aw man' but now I look at my 3 lb weights with a HOORAY!! PROGRESS!! It is not about the weight anymore for me, it is about what I can do, staying there, working hard, and moving up as my body says it is ok. GOAL: NO MORE INJURIES! I can't afford anymore injuries!! Oh and I did catch a glimpse of a little curve in my arm when I picked something up yesterday. I smiled big!
I'm a pinterest addict and lately I've been looking for some cute sundresses but finding the perfect ones online is painful. I ran across a site and after tracing it found the original site. I love these shirts and thinking they could be a GREAT motivational tool. Think I may buy one but start making my own also cause it can get expensive.
